X-Files Creator Films Warhammer 40,000

Image After the creation of a film based on the Warcraft universe and the adaptation of books about the Witcher Geralt, the turn came to Warhammer 40,000 - a popular board game in the wargame genre that combines techno-fantasy and space opera. It was revealed that Frank Spotnitz, creator of The X-Files and The Man in the High Castle, will develop a new TV show based on the hit Game Workshop.

The future project was named Eisenhorn and will tell about the struggle of humanity against total destruction in the scenery of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. While human armies wage endless war on millions of battlefields, another battle takes place in the shadows involving agents of the Imperial Inquisition. Gregor Eisenhorn and the team are trying to prevent the implementation of the monstrous plans of aliens, heretics and demons, seeking to exterminate the human race. The series will be based on the comic book series by British author Dan Abnett, who has worked with Black Library (a division of Game Workshop) and Marvel. The Eisenhorn Trilogy was published in 2001 and includes the books Ordo Xenos, Ordo Malleus and Ordo Hereticus.

Frank Spotnitz has been appointed showrunner and executive producer and will be assisted by Emily Feller (Trust Me, Medici: Lords of Florence). It is not yet known on which channel the new show will be broadcast.
