Nine films to tickle your nerves in isolation
The coronavirus pandemic makes even the most rational people nervous. And this is logical: in the world cinema there are plenty of examples of how humanity unexpectedly encounters a dangerous disease that, at best, kills immediately, and at worst, turns the infected into zombies and vampires. Former activist and now cynical bureaucrat Theo Faron (Clive Owen) is kidnapped by members of a paramilitary organization called Pisces, which defends the rights of refugees. In special factories, scientists extract a valuable product from prisoners, but not all vampires can afford to buy fresh blood, and the starving ones turn into uncontrollable monsters. This continues until the vampire hematologist Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) encounters a group of healthy people led by Elvis (Willem Dafoe), who has recovered from vampirism. Together they will have to save humanity or die trying to do it. I Am Legend (Frances Lawrence)  In 2009, a virus designed to cure cancer wipes out 90 percent of the human population. Of the survivors, 9.8 percent turn into bloodthirsty cannibal monsters, and the remaining 0.2 percent are immune. Among them is the military virologist Robert Neville (Will Smith), who loses his family during the chaotic evacuation of Manhattan and after three years remains the only person in all of New York. The scientist devotes all his time to the development of a vaccine based on his own blood, in the hope that one day he will be able to meet other survivors. One day, Neville decides to catch a monster to test a medicine, and this hunt becomes fateful for him. Twelve Monkeys (Terry Gilliam)  A deadly virus, released in 1996, destroys humanity, and the rare survivors are forced to hide underground. Here the girl meets Ben (Dwayne Jones), who knows how to secure the house and drive away the ghouls, a family of three survivors is found in the attic, and later two more teenagers join them. The radio broadcasts information about a disease that has spread along the east coast of the United States, which turns corpses into cannibals. Having learned about the rescue center on the radio, the heroes decide to try to reach other people, but the road will be dangerous, and not everyone will survive ... Resident Evil (Paul W. S. Anderson)  Under the city of Raccoon there is a secret laboratory of the Umbrella corporation, and once a tragedy occurs in the institution: a terrorist releases a dangerous virus and infects people, and the artificial intelligence of the security system locks the laboratory and kills all living things inside it. Not far from this place, Alice (Milla Jovovich) wakes up, but cannot remember anything. Soon, the woman has to join a detachment of the military who are going to infiltrate the laboratory and find out what happened there.
