Monkeys are preparing a new uprising
After the merger of Fox and Disney, the latter has already put some order in the plans of the acquired film studio. The question remained open with the franchises inherited by the House of Mouse. And if the answer is not completely clear with the X-Men, then the clever primates from the Planet of the Apes will get another chance.Director Wes Ball, who is behind all three of The Maze Runner, will lead the filming of the new Planet of the Apes. But so far, journalists find it difficult to say what the project is - a complete reboot of the franchise or a continuation of the previous trilogy. Disney will likely choose the first option as War for the Planet of the Apes put an end to the story of Caesar and his brethren. Planet of the Apes has a rich cinematic history, with the first film released in 1968, followed by four more. In 2001, Tim Burton tried to restart the film series, but this attempt was not very successful. But the audience liked the film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and marked the beginning of a whole trilogy.  It is noteworthy that in the spring, Disney closed the Mouse Guard project, the shooting of which was going to be headed by Wes Ball. Fortunately, the major found something to offer the director in return, but Ball's rich experience in surviving post-apocalyptic conditions will certainly be useful to him in his work on Planet of the Apes.
