The Avengers Directors Announce Two New Films

Image Comic-Con Festival brings new discoveries to fans every day. Yesterday Joe and Anthony Russo made it clear that they are not going to rest on the laurels of the latest film in the Avengers franchise, which almost caught up with the box office leader of all time - the Avatar tape James Cameron. Instead, the brothers-directors shared their plans for the near future: they intend to film an adaptation of the comic Grimjack and a full-length film based on the animated series Clash of the Planets.

Both works influenced the brothers as early as childhood. Clash of the Planets is an American version of the Gatchaman anime that aired in the United States in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The show follows the adventures of a teenage team called the G-Force, who defend the Earth from pure evil in the person of an antagonist named Zoltar. Comic book Grimjack ("Grimjack") is owned by First Comics and tells the story of a mercenary who works and survives in a city filled with magic and technology.

The Russo brothers are not going to direct the adaptation of the comic strip themselves, but they are thinking of personally directing a feature film based on the animated series. However, it will be possible to get down to work only after filming Cherry with Tom Holland. The R-rated film will focus on the opioid epidemic in the United States in the 1990s.
