Hollywood will host new Hunger Games
The Lionsgate film company is ready to return viewers to the totalitarian state of Panem and conduct another round of brutal reality show for survival. The Hollywood studio kept its promise and took on the development of the Hunger Games prequel series.It was announced today that writer Susan Collins is preparing a book on the Tenth Hunger Games. Through simple mathematical calculations, it becomes obvious that the plot of the novel will unfold 64 years before the events of the first part of the book trilogy about the adventures of Katniss Everdeen. The work does not yet have a title, but has already acquired an official publication date: the Scholastic publishing house promises to release the book on May 19 next year. The first part of the original trilogy was published in 2008. The novel about the 74th Hunger Games sold 100 million copies and stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for 260 consecutive weeks. It is not surprising that Hollywood soon became interested in the book hit. Between 2012 and 2015, Lionsgate released four films about the world of Panem, grossing almost $ 3 billion from a joint budget of $ 493 million.  Naturally, the Lionsgate management could not leave the news of Collins' new romance without comment. “Our studio started negotiations with the writer at an early stage of the creation of the book, - said chairman of the studio Joseph Drake. "We look forward to the publication of the novel and the opportunity to work with Susan on a film version." According to Drake, his company has either already reached an agreement with the writer, or is about to close the deal to acquire the rights to film the prequel.
