While the fantasy horror film Lighthouse is preparing for the premiere in the US, director Robert Eggers is already assembling a cast for his new project. It is noteworthy that this time the filmmaker, who became famous thanks to the horror movie "The Witch", will forget about the supernatural for a while and turn to the history of the Vikings.Eggers begins work on the drama The Northman, starring Alexander Skarsgard. The latter, by the way, belongs to the idea of the film. Skarsgard offered it to Eggers, who had already written the script for the tape in collaboration with the Icelandic poet and writer Sion Sigurdsson. The details of the plot are still kept secret, but it is known that the project is a story about Vikings, which takes place at the turn of the 10th century. The main character of the film is a Scandinavian ruler intending to avenge his father's death. Alexander Skarsgard will play that very ruler, and Nicole Kidman claims the role of his mother. Anya Taylor-Joy, Bill Skarsgard and Willem Dafoe are also negotiating to take part in the drama.  It is noteworthy that Taylor-Joy has already worked with Eggers on The Witch, thanks to which the actress was noticed by Hollywood producers, and Willem Dafoe played one of the main roles in the aforementioned Lighthouse.
