Joker director Todd Phillips continued to guide fans of the DC supervillain through the process of reimagining him. On the director's official page on the Instagram social network, a short video has been published showing the performer of the title role of Joaquin Phoenix without makeup and in makeup. The presented version of the Joker differs significantly from those that appeared in the full-length comic book adaptations earlier. Unlike Joker Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and Jared Leto, Joker Phoenix is more like a classic clown with a red nose and blue eyes. At the time of this writing, the movie was shot in New York. It is expected that in the new version, the future villain will appear before the audience as an unlucky comedian, who, by the will of fate, becomes a participant in a crime and ends up in a vat with chemicals that disfigured his face. The Joker movie is scheduled to be released in October 2019. The movie is low-budget compared to previous movie adaptations, its cost is estimated at only $ 50 million.
