Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure film directed by Justin Kurzel and starring Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael C. Williams, Ariana Labed and Jeremy Irons. The picture is a film adaptation of the Assassin's Creed computer games universe, in the center of the plot of which the creators have placed the confrontation between the Assassins and the Templars, having previously provided it with fantasy and sci-fi elements.The hardened criminal Callum Lynch ( Fassbender ) is rescued from death penalty by representatives of the corporation Abstergo Industries - the modern incarnation of the Order of the Knights Templar . Interest in the condemned did not arise out of nowhere: Lynch is a descendant of the assassin Aguilar de Nerja . A virtual reality machine called the Animus and the DNA of Callum should help the order get inside the head of Aguilar and gain knowledge that will lead the Templars to the longed-for control of the world. Thanks to the stalemate Lynch , the members of the order seem to be getting closer to their goal, but along the way, the self-awareness of the central character is growing.
