David Duchovny: ”Mulder is the Worst FBI Agent Ever”
In an interview with The New York Times David Duchovny commented on the news about the return of the heroes of the cult TV series " The X-Files " ( The X-Files ) to small screens.“I don’t know all the details of the project yet, but I think we will be able to successfully combine the mythology and storylines of the original with stories from the category“ one episode, one monster ”, - said the actor. -I'm touched that after so many years people continue to love The X-Files . The pilot episode of The X-Files had a great script, but I was not sure the series would catch on so quickly. While working on feature films, we have already faced the question of how to make them available to those who have never watched our show. In the miniseries, we again have to solve this problem. Fans of the original will have the edge, but I don't think the average viewer will have to urgently catch up to understand what's happening on screen.  In my opinion, now is the time to return to the screens. If Star Trek ( Star Trek ) after the reboot changed the tone of the narrative, we are determined to keep the spirit of the original. We want to shoot the very show that the audience loved so much, but at the same time take into account the fact that a lot has changed in twenty years. Perhaps in the new version The Smoker would have to chew Nicorette ...  It seems to me that over the years Gillian Anderson and I have only improved in acting. I hardly need to play the same guy that my character was in the first seasons, because now I am capable of more. It will be interesting to return to familiar images with a new set of acting skills and abilities. I've always found it funny that in nine years Mulder hasn't solved a single case.
