Always Coca-Cola

Image According to Deadline , writers and producers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese ("Welcome to Zombieland") have acquired the rights to film the book Thomas Oliver The Real Coke, The Real Story .

In 1985, the bosses of The Coca-Cola Company were worried about the booming sales of their competitors following the successful Pepsi Challenge marketing campaign. The secret formula for making Coca-Cola was changed, but New Coke soda did not become very popular with Americans.

The attempt to create a new taste of the drink is considered one of the most deafening failures in the history of The Coca-Cola Company . However, there is a theory that the corporation deliberately began selling "fake cola" in order to then victoriously return the original drink to the market, and also, unnoticed by customers, switch from using cane sugar to fructose.

Wernick and Reese reportedly bought the film rights to Oliver with their own money. They expect to write their own script and then submit their project to the management of Hollywood studios.
