Christopher McQuarrie officially signed up for Mission 6
We recently reported that Paramount has invited Christopher McQuarrie , director of the blockbuster Mission Impossible: Rogue Tribe , to lead the filming of the sixth installment of the franchise. The filmmaker has now confirmed on social media that he has officially accepted the studio's offer.Tom Cruise will return to the image of Ethan Hunt , and there are also rumors that Rebecca Ferguson will again become his screen partner. The sixth "Mission" is produced by the same Cruz , David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and JJ Abrams. McQuarrie not only directed but also wrote Rogue Tribes , co-writing the film with Drew Pearce. It has not yet been announced whether the director will start working on the script this time.  Curiously, Christopher McQuarrie is the first director to have the honor of directing two films in a series in a row. His predecessors in this position were Brian de Palma, John Wu, JJ Abrams and Brad Bird, who shot one part of the franchise.  Filming for the sixth "Mission" should start next summer. And while Paramount has yet to set a date for the blockbuster's premiere, if all goes according to plan, Ethan Hunt can be expected to return in 2017.
