Lego competitor to get their own movie
At the end of 2014, the European company On Entertainment bought the rights to create a film based on the popular line of construction toys Playmobil . The project received a budget of $ 80 million , and Robert Persichetti Jr. had to take over its development. However, only now, as reported by Variety , the production of the film has moved off the ground, and Lino DiSalvo , who has worked at Disney for more than 15 years, has been selected as its director .The Playmobil line was created by the German carpenter Hans Beck , who loved to design model airplanes at his leisure. When he offered his crafts to Brandstaetter , the owner asked Hans to start developing toys. The first batch of Playmobil appeared in 1974, and a year later it began selling around the world.  DiSalvo has a long career at Disney as an animator, and his career includes such animated films as Frozen, Rapunzel: A Tangled Story and The Volt. Now the future director will have to do a great job and take the Playmobil franchise to a new level, which was done by the team of its main competitor - Lego .  “Working at Disney I grew up as a professional and learned a lot,- noted DiSalvo . -As a father and filmmaker, I am incredibly happy to have this opportunity to create a picture of my son's favorite toys ".
