Winston Churchill's Suicide Squad

Image Paramount Pictures has entered the final stage of negotiations to acquire the rights to a script application by Oscar nominees Paul Tamasi and Eric Johnson ("The Fighter") to create a British reconnaissance and sabotage service, Deadline transfers. The project, which will be based on Damien Lewis' book " Department of Non-Gentleman War ", hit the market last week and immediately attracted the interest of several Hollywood film companies. The bosses of Paramount are willing to pay seven figures for it, as well as hire famed producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean).

The film is set in the early 40s of the last century, when a series of defeats in the battles of World War II forced Winston Churchill to look for a way to strike back at Hitler's Germany. The British Secretary of Defense decided to create a commando group, whose members had to agree on a truly suicidal mission - to go behind enemy lines to conduct subversive activities. The soldiers of the secret squad, famous for their ability to break the rules of civilized combat, made a significant contribution to the success of a number of Allied operations.

To work on the book, Lewis used recently declassified information on a number of special forces missions, thanks to which Tamasi and Johnson have so much material on hand that he enough for several films at once. According to insiders, elements of such famous films as The Dirty Dozen, Inglourious Basterds and Mission: Impossible can be seen in their script application.
