Jennifer Lopez Gathers Strippers
Thanks to STXfilms, Jennifer Lopez has a good start all over again, returning to the big screens after several years away. Now the singer and actress is gathering a gang of strippers for the studio, and a regiment of dancers has arrived: the newly minted Grammy Award winner Cardi B and Riverdale star Lili Reinhart have signed up to take part in the filming of The Hustlers at Scores.Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians) will play one of the main roles in the film along with Lopez. Keke Palmer (The Scream Queens), Julia Styles (The Bourne Identity) and Mercedes Ruelle (The Fisher King) have also joined the cast, while Mette Tauli and Trace Lisette are in talks to get supporting roles. The director's chair for the project was given to Lauren Skafaria (“Looking for a friend for the end of the world”). She also wrote the script for the drama. Inspired by Skafaria in an article in New York Magazine in 2016. Lopez and Wu lead a group of former strippers who decide to take revenge on their Wall Street clients together. Cardi B is rumored to play Serena, one of Lopez's best friends, Julia Styles, a journalist who befriended Constance Wu's character, and Mercedes Ruelle got the role of Mom, who runs the secret affairs of the strip club.  The film was one of those projects that were in development at Annapurna Pictures, but after a change of strategy Megan Allison's studio suddenly abandoned it, although with such a concentration of stars in the cast and a solid director at the helm, the drama can be a very profitable investment now for STXfilms.
