USA Box Office Fights The Avengers

The only question was the amount that the third "Avengers" will earn at the start. And now, based on the results of the weekend, we can confidently say that the ten-year efforts of Kevin Feige and his colleagues are fully rewarded: "War of Infinity" is breaking records.In its first weekend at the box office, the Russo brothers' blockbuster mastered $ 250 million, thus updating several records of the North American box office at once. In particular, the "Avengers" triquel showed the best performance of the debut weekend - before that, "The Force Awakens" could boast of such an achievement, which began its trip to cinemas with an amount of $ 248 million. On the global stage, Infinity War also feels great, with overseas audiences shelling out $ 380 million to watch Marvel superheroes fight Thanos. The eighth "Fast and the Furious" started more briskly outside the US last year ($ 443 million), but a decent part of this amount was in China, where the new "Avengers" will open in only two weeks.  Usually, Marvel blockbusters are released in cinemas in the United States a week later than in a number of other countries, but this year the studio decided to postpone the premiere date of the film, arguing that Americans should see a film of this magnitude with the rest of the world. Judging by the results, caring for the fans has paid off. Plus, Infinity War now has three, not two weeks left before Deadpool sets out to bust moviegoers. It is safe to say that in the near future the blockbuster will squeeze the maximum out of superhero fans. The first viewers gave him a high mark A, critics were also pleased with the film. The construction of the cinematic universe, which took ten years, ends in a spectacular action that is simply pleasant to watch. The writers of "Infinity War" tried their best to tie together all the storylines, to register the character of the best villain of the Thanos franchise. Of course, the reviewers are a little upset by the fact that the film never comes to an explosive denouement, but it's not for nothing that the Russo brothers are also preparing the fourth "Avengers", for which they probably have all the most interesting.  The second place went to the horror film A Quiet Place, which added $ 10.7 million to its already full piggy bank. Now at home, John Krasinski's tape has $ 148.2 million. among them the fifth place. However, it will not be difficult for a Quiet Place to get the film “What Lies Behind” with its $ 155.5 million, it’s not for nothing that Paramount studio believes in its potential and has already launched a sequel.  The third position of the top 5 is taken by the comedy "Pretty Woman", which raised an additional $ 8.1 million. So far, the total result of the tape ($ 29.6 million) does not even reach the amount of its production budget ($ 32 million). And although the heroine Amy Schumer is a sweet girl and sometimes even arouses sympathy, the directors failed to convey the main message of the film to the public. And the humor in it is quite specific. The fourth place was taken by the blockbuster "Rampage", which, in the presence of strong competitors, managed to snatch only a modest $ 7.1 million. And although in US cinemas the action earned $ 77.9 million, which is not enough in comparison with the $ 120 million budget, from the financial failure of the film adaptation of the video game with overseas viewers are saved by a very predictable plot - they have already given her $ 256.7 million.  Who certainly benefited from the premiere of Infinity War, so this is another blockbuster Marvel: "Black Panther" in the wake of the popularity of superheroes from eighth place rose to fifth. $ 4.4 million was added to its asset, and 11 weeks after the premiere, Ryan Coogler's film boasts an impressive $ 688 million.
