The Cursed Nun Prepares Counter Strike
Although last year's horror film The Curse of the Nun earned a humiliating 26% rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatos, it managed to accomplish two strategic tasks at once - to expand the boundaries of the Curse of the Cinematic Universe and recoup its modest $ 22 million budget. After Corinne Hardy's gothic horror film finished at around $ 365.6 million, it became apparent that Blumhouse studio management would turn a blind eye to the negative press and start creating its sequel. It looks like the sinister nun will return to screens even earlier than intended.“We already have a fun storyline for the sequel,” producer Peter Safran confessed to Entertainment Weekly. -I think Curse of the Nun 2 will be the next Blumhouse project to be handed over to the writers”. Film buffs can only hope that this offshoot of the franchise will follow the path of another series of "The Conjuring" spin-offs - "The Curse of Annabelle". At one time, the first film about an unfriendly doll received a demoralizing rating of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Blumhouse management learned from their own mistakes and quickly put the film series back on track: the second part of "The Curse of Annabelle" earned quite a decent 70% rating.  This year Blumhouse will release two new films from its horror universe at once: The Curse of the Weeping One and The Curse of Annabelle 3.
