Are you friend or foe of Morbius?
Matt Smith is better known to viewers for his work on television, but he tirelessly tries to conquer the world of cinema. The creators of the blockbuster Morbius, in which Smith just got one of the key roles, will give him a chance to replenish his army of fans with those who prefer full-length film.The title character, we recall, will be played by Jared Leto, and until now only Adria Archona was his company. The director's chair for the project has been given to Daniel Espinosa (Cape Town's Access Code), and he plans to start filming within the next couple of months, so movie fans will hear more about the cast of the film in the near future. Dr. Michael Morbius is an internationally renowned biochemist dying of an unknown blood disease. Hoping to recover, he decides to conduct an experiment and injects himself with the DNA of a vampire bat. However, instead of good health, Morbius gets fangs and photophobia, turning into a real bloodsucker. The representatives of the Sony studio are still silent about the hero of Matt Smith, but it can be assumed that he will embody the image of Loxias, a friend of Morbius suffering from the same disease. After injecting the drug, he turns into a killing machine that only Morbius can stop. Rumor has it that the major wanted to get Eddie Redmayne or James McAvoy for this role, but apparently they were not interested in the blockbuster.  Matt Smith, famed for Doctor Who and an Emmy-nominated drama for The Crown, will appear in Episode 9 of Star Wars this year. Two slightly less ambitious projects await a wide release: in one Smith played a controversial photographer, in the other - Charles Manson himself. Also in a few days at the Sundance festival the premiere of the thriller "Gostine" with the participation of the actor will take place.
