Oscar-winning Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea), Fifty Shades of Gray star Dakota Johnson and Jason Siegel (End of Tour) will star in the true-to-life film The Friend. Filming will be led by BAFTA nominee Gabriela Kaupertaite (Black Fish).The plot of the picture will be based on an article from Esquire magazine about a woman named Nicole Teague (Johnson) and her husband Matthew (Affleck), who found out that she had only six months left to live, and invited the best family friend (Siegel) to their house, here who dropped everything. He was supposed to give the couple moral support, but his impact on their lives in the next few months turned out to be much more important and deeper than anyone could imagine.
