The main surprise of the past weekend was the film "Claustrophobes", which started at $ 18 million. The film studio Sony on the first weekend doubled its own production budget ($ 9 million) and climbed to the second line of the rating, easily finished with "Mary Poppins". Analysts believe the thriller will end up earning around $ 40- $ 45 million following the Infiltration route. Curiously, Sony postponed the premiere of "Claustrophobes" several times: first, the major refused to release them on Thanksgiving weekend, and then - in early February, when the audience's attention would be riveted on Shyamalan's "Glass". In places, Adam Robitel's thriller is reminiscent of Tales from the Crypt, Destination and The Game, which makes it predictable. However, if you enjoy what is happening and not go too deep into the analysis of the plot, you will enjoy watching it.  The musical "Mary Poppins Returns" can be called a loser of the past Golden Globe Awards. The tape was nominated in four categories, but did not win any awards. Mary Poppins was not too lucky at the box office: she lost almost half of the viewers and lost second place to Claustrophobes. An additional $ 15.8 million went to the film's asset, and now it boasts an amount of $ 138.7 million, not much more than its $ 130 million budget. The animated film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", which just won the Golden Globe Award, managed to bypass its main competitor - the blockbuster "Bumblebee".
