An ordinary American family man wakes up in an ordinary American bedroom of an ordinary American house next to an ordinary American wife and sees in front of him an ordinary American deer, which in the most ordinary way wakes up the family and urinates on everyone who can get it, and then treacherously escapes from the house, along the way, knocking down an ordinary American postman. The introduction is over. Laugh. Laugh, you were told, ungrateful ones! Everyone laugh immediately!
And so – the whole movie. It overtook Pacific Rim at the box office. It raised nearly two hundred million dollars. It's hard to think about this movie seriously, it's too 'specific'.
Looking at this achievement of modern pop culture, even an atheist will not believe in God for long, having reasonably judged that Odnoklassniki 2 – this is his punishment for our sins. And Sandler should be appointed a holy prophet at the time, because in the creation of a simpler comedian, stars of not the last magnitude would hardly have shone. It remains only to believe and hope that they were forced to participate in all this, blackmailing in case of refusal to disclose some terrible compromising evidence. However, it is unlikely, the role in this movie – the dirt itself is not sickly, rather, they just threatened to do something absurdly terrible.
However, no matter how incredible it may sound, even in this darkness there was a place for a thin ray of light, which looks more like a side effect than a result of the purposeful work of the authors. Despite all the idiocy that is going on, the movie has a very pleasant atmosphere: a cozy American one-story town, private houses, a lake, greenery around. The characters enjoy the carefree carelessness, everyone is happy with each other, even when they are fighting, and a slight euphoria is read on their faces. This, of course, is an echo of the carefree creative (if this word is appropriate here) atmosphere that reigned on the set, but still a little, the tiniest little bit smooths out the overall impression of this product of Sandler's sleepy mind. Just a little bit.
But once he made good comedies, interesting, and sometimes even sad, not devoid of meaning. But it seems that he sold his soul to one of the demiurges, and now he is treating us with products not even the second, but the devil-knows-what freshness. It also lures everyone Buscemi and Hayek, not to mention promising young growth. The latter, by the way, does not refer to Taylor Lautner, but to the incredibly effective and charismatic Alexander Ludwig, who is much better suited to the role of a sex symbol than most modern youth stars.
Theater of unfunny grotesque, stupid ( if not to say more rudely) farce and just pathetic attempts to prove oneself, at which one can only look through the fingers of the palm pressed to the forehead. The third part, it seems, will become a harbinger of the Apocalypse, and looking at the box office, you need to dig a bunker and buy stew right now. In a word, if against your will you managed to get to the session of this movie – run. If you went there purposefully – Serves you right.
