The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the list of nominees for the main award in the world of cinema. The Oscar nominees were presented by actors Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis. Usually by mid-January, after half of the awards season, it becomes clear who is the top favorite in the Oscar race. However, this year analysts and journalists could name at least ten films worthy of being nominated. Members of the Academy, in turn, preferred the fantastic drama The Shape of Water: it will compete for prizes in 13 nominations. Much to the delight of fans of USA cinema, Andrei Zvyagintsev's Dislike was among the top five contenders in the Best Foreign Language Film category and will continue to fight for the main film award. The 90th Academy Awards will be held on March 4 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Like last year, the Oscar will be hosted by popular TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel. It is noteworthy that Billy Crystal was last honored to hold two ceremonies in a row in 1997 and 1998.
