Minecraft again without a director, but with new writers
Four years ago, Warner Bros. announced plans for the adaptation of the popular video game Minecraft. Unfortunately, fans of the franchise will have to wait a little longer. According to Variety, the production of Minecraft was postponed due to the departure of the director and scriptwriter of the project, Rob McElhenney. However, the post of screenwriter did not remain vacant for long - it was divided between Aaron and Adam Nee. As a reminder, Sony recently invited the Ni brothers to take the directorial chair of the Lords of the Universe reboot, and it is not yet clear which project the filmmakers will start with.McElhenney was recently asked about the production of the tape, to which he replied, "No, I'm not involved in this anymore." The creator of the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia declined to comment. The performer of the role of Mac wrote the script with Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman), who also left the project.  Recall that at first the director's chair was occupied by Sean Levy, but then it was announced that he would be replaced by McElhenney. Roy Lee (The Lego Movie) is still a producer, so it is hoped that the adaptation will go into production. When the Lego franchise was first announced, critics thought it was doomed to fail. Few believed that a tape based on a constructor could at least hit their budget in a box office. However, Lego. So, perhaps Minecraft will be able to repeat the success of its cartoon brother.
