The Trouble of the Creators of The Hurt Locker continue. After one of the movie's producers was denied the right to attend the Oscar ceremony for trying to put pressure on members of the Film Academy, the moviemakers became defendants in the lawsuit of a US Army sergeant.

Jeffrey Saver, who served as a sapper in Iraq, claims that it was the story of his unit that formed the basis of the movie's script, but no mention there is no information about him and his people in the movie.

The sapper has grounds for such statements, since in 2005 the screenwriter for The Lord of the Storm Mark Boal wrote an article for Playboy magazine, the main character of which was Saver.

The plaintiff's lawyers note a large number of coincidences in the picture and the real story of Sergeant Saver. For example, the main character of the movie uses the same callsign that the sergeant had during his service in Iraq, and so on.

Representatives of the Summit Entertainment studio state that all coincidences are coincidental.
