Review of the first episodes of the series Supermen in IMAX format

If you love comics and have not yet decided how best to celebrate Knowledge Day, I strongly advise you to go to the movies and check out the first two episodes of the new superhero show "Overmen", which will premiere in IMAX theaters on September 1. Firstly, this is an unprecedented case when the series is not only shown in the most advanced cinemas of the moment, but also movieed with the latest technology. Second, you'll see the beginning of the Superman Royal Family's adventure almost a month before the series' official debut on ABC. And thirdly, you will surely enjoy watching it, because the plot turned out to be great.

I want to immediately note the musical accompaniment in the opening - powerful, but without deliberate pathos, melodic and setting the tone for future adventures. Already when I was checking the movieography of Sean Collery, I realized that I liked it so much and it seemed as if I was familiar - he wrote music for the TV series "Jessica Jones". Whoever watched will remember how mesmerizing the opening credits were, also thanks to the musical composition. Each character in "Supermen" has its own theme, for example, when Maximus (Ivan Rheon) starts to play naughty, rock sounds.

The special effects are excellent, and on IMAX screens, and even with sound, they look and feel almost as reality: drowning in the ocean with a Gorgon (Eme Iquacor), falling off a cliff with Karnak (Ken Leung), fleeing through the jungle with Triton (Mike Mo). Medusa's (Serinda Swan's) hair looks natural in screen resolution, given the genre. Let me add a few words in defense of Medusa, which in the trailers seemed kind of swollen. On the big screen, this is not visible, and after the Queen loses her main superpower, she just looks younger. In general, the royal couple – Medusa and Black Bolt (Anson Mount) – look ... royally textured. Mount, in the context of his wordless role, does more than just – it is necessary to portray the activity, but at the same time not to slip into clownery. Amusing moments associated with his "dumbness" are present, but without exaggeration.

The hardest thing, perhaps, is Ivan Rheon, and we must give him his due – looking at his Maximus the Mad, you do not remember Ramsay Bolton. If Ramsey is a sadist and a villain, then Maximus is more likely just an intriguer with a younger brother's complex. Although he treats women the same way not like a gentleman. Isabelle Cornish looks very good in the role of Princess Crystal. She has not yet shown special abilities, but in herself she is fresh and good, which will, no doubt, be appreciated. Karnak turned out to be a sarcastic philosopher, and his trick is to figure out the weak link in whatever it is - skillfully demonstrated. "Artiodactyl" Gorgon is also a guy with humor, but also furious and devoted to the family at the same time. The images are well chosen, and it is clear that the actors have got used to them.

Since "Supermen" is also an action movie, although there have not been very many action scenes yet, they were shot cheerfully, with a twinkle. including the female "mochilovo". Summing up, I can say that in 75 minutes an acquaintance with the entire Royal Family took place (including the flashbacks from the youth of some characters); an idea of the city of Attilan and the caste system of society is given; and the beginning of the adventures of the protagonists on the alien planet Earth was laid.

PS Do not rush to leave – after the credits there will be a scene. It's Marvel baby.
