Beaver's movie premiere was greeted with applause
Jodie Foster's Beaver, starring Mel Gibson, premiered at the Austin Film Festival. According to The Hollywood Reporter, after the screening of the picture, the audience gave a standing ovation to its creators. Gibson himself was absent from the premiere, Anton Yelchin and Foster herself answered the questions of those present in the hall. The director, in particular, admitted that movieing the movie was for her the most serious test in her long Hollywood career. Foster also noted Mel Gibson's brilliant performance and clarified that it was a great honor for her to work with him again. Recall that the premiere of the movie was postponed several times. Eventually, Summit Entertainment decided to release the movie for limited release on May 6, 2011.
