Sony Pictures will invest 120 million in Blomcamp's project
South African moviemaker Neil Blomkamp, who literally burst into the fantasy genre with District 9, has finally received funding worthy of his talent. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures will invest in his new project, Elysium $ 120 million. Designer Sid Mead, who helped create Blade Runner, will take part in the painting. The main roles in the movie will be played by Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley and Matt Damon. Previously it was claimed that the movie will take place in the distant future on another planet.
