Tom Hanks to debut on Broadway (Topic)

Tom Hanks will make his Broadway debut in a theatrical production directed by Nora Efron, in which the actor starred in Sleepless in Seattle. This is reported by The NY Times.

In the play called Lucky, which is based on real events, Hanks will play reporter Mike McAlary, who covered the activities of the New York City Police Department during one of the most major corruption scandals in the history of the city.

At one time, the journalist was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his work. Mike McAlary died of cancer at the age of 41.

Rehearsals will begin in January 2013 with an eye to the spring premiere.
