In the spring of 2010, the shooting of The Hobbit will not start. This was announced by the producer of the project, Peter Jackson, who is quoted by TheOneRing.net resource. The previously planned shooting schedule for the movie is no longer valid, since the MGM movie studio has not yet given permission to shoot. According to Jackson, he and director Guillermo Del Toro are currently working on the script for the second part and expect to complete it by early 2010. “If approved, we will make a budget estimate and then set a start date for movieing. It may be the middle of the year, '' Jackson said.

Guillermo Del Toro previously claimed that work on the set would begin in March 2010. The first part of the dilogy should be released in December 2011.
