Historical box office record set in USA
The cumulative box office receipts of movies released in USA and the CIS countries (excluding Ukraine) in 2010, for the first time since the collection of statistics, exceeded one billion dollars. This is reported by the Bulletin of the Film Distributor. Thus, USA joined the so-called billionaire club, which a year earlier included Japan, India, France, Great Britain and Germany. The main "locomotives" Hollywood movies shot in 3D format became USA box office. The absolute leader is Avatar, which earned more than $ 118 million in USA, followed by Shrek: Forever ($ 51.5 million) and Alice in Wonderland ($ 42 million).
