Review of the movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. It's Over

A long time ago, more precisely 10 years ago, Muggles all over the world first saw the on-screen incarnation of The Boy Who Lived. It was a risky endeavor, since by that time only three Harry Potter books had been released, and, despite all their popularity, it was not known how the whole story would end. And now it has come to an end finally and irrevocably. David Yates, who was considered by many to be almost the worst of the Potter directors, suddenly made the most powerful movie, exactly what the Muggles of the whole world expected from him.

First about the most important thing. Although ... it all depends on what you're going to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for. In general, about stereoscopy.

As you know, Warner Bros. planned to release the first part in 3D, but the inconsistency in the actions of the company's divisions led to the fact that it was impossible to ensure the proper quality of stereoscopic projection in the time remaining before the premiere. Naturally, it was a question of converting the footage that had already been shot, since the shooting was carried out in the traditional way.

The picture released in November 2010, despite some tenacity of the plot, fully met expectations. It was obvious from the start that it was second only to Philosopher's Stone in box office, which eventually happened. In theory, this should have convinced the leadership of Warner Bros. is that the huge audience interest in the ending of `` Potter '' no stereoscopic feed required. But not convinced.

As a result, the second part acquired a third dimension, the presence of which is not justified by either the plot or the riot of special effects. It is impossible to explain the deliberate stereoscopy by anything other than the desire to increase the cost of tickets.

And now, really about the main thing. Anyway, for those who want to know about the movie itself.

David Yates did the almost impossible. It seems that he took into account all the claims about his first experiments with the `` Potteriana '' and made the movie dark, dynamic and full of real drama, concentrated in individual characters.

In a number of Western reviews it was written that he was surprisingly good in the second "; Deathly Hallows '' Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom. Unfortunately, no special merits of the young actor were noticed. Quite possibly they just got bogged down in a quagmire of inadequate dubbing.

But, ladies and gentlemen, how good Alan Rickman is! The scenes with his participation have always been a decoration of the series, and in the case of Deathly Hallows 2 he literally "stole" the whole movie. Probably, the next revelation will be a little spoiler for someone, but it is absolutely impossible to refrain from it. The episode, in which Severus with a completely lifeless face, which nevertheless reflects an unthinkable storm of feelings, enters the destroyed Potters' apartment, makes his way to the tailbone. Believe me, the author of these lines is not one of the most sensitive moviegoers.

In a word, Alan Rickman finally and irrevocably confirms not so much the strength of his acting talent, which few doubt, as a very rare case of absolutely exact correspondence to the image in the screen versions of literary works. Any of the minor characters in Potter can be imagined playing `` someone else '', and in the case of some of them, this replacement of the actor did take place, but not Severus Snape.

Definitely good and Daniel Radcliffe himself, who was able to reveal the potential hidden in him as a real dramatic actor. Paradoxically, at times he was clearly more than his role, in any case, what was prescribed to him by the script and director's instructions. There was a feeling that at some early stages of the preparation of the project, the scriptwriters underestimated the capabilities of the actor and put his talent in too tight a framework. Rupert Grint and Emma Watson diligently cope with their images, though they did not realize all their possibilities in the final, but gave the audience, without a doubt, the most passionate kiss of the entire saga.

So just as impressive, as always, is Ralph Fiennes, who until the end of his days will surely play a lot of wonderful roles, but will clearly remain in the memory of several generations of viewers as a wizard with a snake nose who tore his soul into several parts. A more detailed story about his character will be tantamount to revealing the main intrigue of the picture, so I will limit myself only to this indisputable characteristic.

It makes no sense to talk about special effects and musical accompaniment separately, because we are still talking about `` Harry Potter '', and this in itself is a sign of quality in modern cinema.

After reading all of the above, future viewers shouldn't get the impression that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 no complaints at all. Of course have. At times, the connections between the individual scenes are poor. Personally, I strongly disliked the scene of Madame Weasley's fight with Belatrice. Sometimes direct borrowings are visible, for example ... from the Matrix. Harry Potter fans will surely find a ton of inconsistencies between the movie and Joan Rolling's book.

Your humble servant, to his shame, did not read any of them, and only tried to understand: did David Yates and his comrades manage to create an integral movie work worthy of crowning the ten-year work of a huge number of moviemakers?

And the conclusion is as follows. As much as possible, the ending of Harry Potter turned out. Moreover, in my opinion, this is the best part of the saga, which will work without difficulty for the never submitted `` Potterians '' billion.

Unfortunately, as the movie's main motto says, it's over. But, in all honesty, would any of us Muggles mind if, in a few years, J.K. Rowling suddenly announced that the story of the `` boy who survived '' not finished yet?

And conclusion that is. As much as possible, the ending of Harry Potter turned out. Moreover, in my opinion, this is the best part of the saga, which will easily work for the never submitted `` Potterians '' billion.
