Review of the movie Pink Panther 2. Pink is the color of happiness
Monsieur Clouseau, one of the most famous detectives, has recently been writing traffic fines for incorrect parking. But everything has to change. The Pink Panther Diamond, and with it three of the world's greatest treasures, have been stolen. To catch the criminal hiding under the name of Tornado, a team of the best of the best has been assembled (of course, Clouseau is among them, but world-famous detectives do not yet know how this will turn out for them). Clouseau (Steve Martin) – this is a hero, confident in his righteousness, possessing a peculiar thinking and devoid of that plane, because of which he could be accused of being boring. He is in love with his assistant Nicole (Emily Mortimer), but due to the fact that they work together, I am forced to hide my feelings myself and expect the same from her (after all, it's wrong to build relationships during working hours). Work – most importantly, the family – secondary. Because of this categorical statement, Clouseau's assistant, Ponton (Jean Reno) temporarily moves to his boss, taking two sons and a dog. One of the most important investigations in the world begins, and real chaos is going on in the house of detective Clouseau. However, there is little that the hero of Steve Martin can distract from the investigation. Mistrust and sidelong glances of colleagues do not count either. The team of the best included not only extremely diverse characters, but also not little-known actors: the Italian with hot blood Vincenzo (Andy Garcia), the genius of deduction Pepperidge (Alfred Molina), the computer brain from Japan Kenji (Yuki Matsuzaki) and the charming Sonya (Aishwarya Rai ). The investigation attracts huge attention of the press, therefore Mrs. Berenger (Lily Tomlin) is sent to help the French police, whose goal is to conduct trainings on political correctness. The last topic is especially relevant, so you can joke about it. The scenes of Clouseau's consultations with Mrs Berenger were pure improvisation, perhaps because their communication is pleasantly expressive and lively. A play of contrasts, stereotypes and surprises, heroes change, Rome alternates Paris, and the criminal has not yet been caught. Clouseau every day covers France with more and more shame, his colleagues stop listening to him, and Nicole is sure that he is indifferent to her. The awkward and characteristic character is the connecting link of the whole movie. But Steve Martin, one of the most experienced comedians in Hollywood, can do it.
