James Cameron presented an 18-minute cut from the stereoscopic version of his famous movie Titanic. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the presentation took place in one of the viewing rooms of the Paramount movie company. Both dramatic scenes and action-packed episodes were shown.

By the recognition of the majority of those present at the screening, "Titanic" in 3D is the best converted footage ever shown on a large screen. The results of almost 12 months of work of several hundred special effects specialists turned out to be truly impressive.

As a reminder, the original movie went through a frame-by-frame scanning process at 4K resolution before conversion. The total cost of the work was $ 18 million.

James Cameron himself admits that although the updated Titanic and cannot be fully considered a 3D movie, but the 2.99D specification is quite suitable for it.

Stereo version of Titanic will be released worldwide in April 2012.
