Lars von Trier, who shocked the audience with his Antichrist, will continue to explore the depths of the human psyche in the fantasy drama Melancholy. In an interview with Politiken, the director revealed some details of the plot of his next project. The action will take place against the background of a global cataclysm caused by the collision of the Earth with another planet, and in the center of the plot there will be two sisters who will demonstrate completely different reactions to the approaching End of the World. One of them, suffering from bouts of melancholy, will expect imminent death with philosophical calm, and the other will panic. The main roles will be played by Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsburg.
