In Moscow, at the Ararat Park Hyatt hotel, a press conference was held by the creators of the movie "Stalingrad" - director Fyodor Bondarchuk and producer Alexander Rodnyansky, as well as the heads of the IMAX company Greg Foster and John Schreiner.

It was about cooperation in the creation of the first USA movie project, which will be released in the IMAX 3D format.

As it became known, the budget of the painting will be about $ 30 million. It will be formed from the funds of the State Fund for the Support of Cinematography, loans from state banks, as well as proceeds from the sale of various rights.

According to Alexander Rodnyansky, the founders of Stalingrad; are not going to follow the path of the authors of the `` great movie about the Great War '', as well as other movies about the war. Instead of an epic canvas with `` red arrows on cards '' viewers will have a story of people caught in the epicenter of the largest battle in the history of World War II.

The main roles in the movie will be played by Thomas Kretschman, whom the audience will remember from the movies King Kong; and `` Particularly Dangerous '', and USA actor Pyotr Fedorov.

Bondarchuk and Rodnyansky emphasized that they did not seek to release Stalingrad. for the anniversary of the great battle, the premiere will take place in the second half of 2013. Test shooting was already carried out in September 2011, and it was they that became the decisive argument in negotiations with partners from the IMAX company.

"Stalingrad" will be movieed in regular format, and then converted using IMAX DMR digital remastering technology. Filming will take place in the outskirts of St. Petersburg, where large-scale scenery has already been erected.

Fyodor Bondarchuk promised that his movie will not repeat the fate of other stereoscopic movies that have been criticized for poor conversion.
