British screenwriter Stephen Knight will adapt for the screen the latest best-selling book by American writer Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol, continuing the story of the adventures of Professor Robert Langdon. According to Variety, Knight, whose latest work was the script for The Isle of the Damned, has been approved by the management of Columbia Pictures.

Apparently, the movie company wants to start work on the movie as soon as possible. Not particularly impressive financial results of Angels and Demons, most likely, will not become a hindrance.

Tom Hanks has previously stated that he is ready to play the role of Langdon again.
