Director Christopher Nolan made a dramatic statement at the premiere of The Dark Knight 2: The Legend Rises in Aurora, Colorado.

“Speaking on behalf of all the moviemakers, I would like to express our deep sorrow over the senseless tragedy that has befallen all the inhabitants of Aurora.

I don't know anything about the victims of the shooting, except that they came to see a movie. I believe movies are one of the finest forms of American art, and the experience shared by viewers as they watch the story unfold on the screen is an important and joyful experience.

The cinema is my home, and the thought that someone would violate the innocence of this hopeful place in such an unbearably wild way, destructive to me.

Nothing any of us can say can adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this terrible crime, but all our thoughts are with them and their families, ”the statement said.

Recall that according to the latest data, 12 people were killed and more than 50 injured during the night screening of the movie in Aurora. The offender, 24-year-old James Holmes, was detained. An investigation is underway.
