Colin Firth, who played King George VI in Tom Hooper's movie The King's Speech, was promoted to Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

According to The Sun, the ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace , and the actor received the award from the grandson of George VI, Prince Charles.

Recall that earlier a similar honor was awarded to Firth's colleague in the movie `` The King's Speech! '' Helena Bonham Carter.

Tom Hooper's painting was a triumph at last year's Oscars. She applied for 12 gold statuettes, and received four of them, including the best movie of the year.
