Fox has canceled the futuristic drama Almost Human, starring Karl Urban and Michael Ely. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing Fox, the series will not be renewed for a second season.

The drama, created by J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman, takes place in 2048 in Los Angeles, and in addition to human policemen, high-tech police robots are keeping order on the streets.

The premiere, which took place on Fox on November 17, 2013, showed a high start – 9.2 million viewers. Further, throughout the first season, the rankings fell and were only able to rise to the final, which attracted 5.63 million people.

The news of the series' cancellation coincided with the announcement of the main cast of Star Wars: Episode 7, directed by J.J. Abrams.

As a reminder, in May 2012, Fox executives decided not to renew the series.; Alcatraz " for the second season, which was also conceived and executive produced by Abrams.
