Walt Disney Prepares for Mass Layoffs
In the next two weeks, Walt Disney will be downsizing its core divisions. According to The Hollywood Reporter, these are the results of an internal audit commissioned by the head of the company, Bob Iger. The layoffs will affect the marketing, home video and animation departments. Most likely, the process of reducing the staff of the Lucasmovie studio, acquired by Walt Disney in December 2012, will continue. Recall that the LucasArts company was closed earlier, and 150 of its employees lost their jobs. Walt Disney officials have yet to comment on the situation.
