The Hobbit will present an introduction to Star Trek 2
Paramount Pictures has announced the premiere of the 9-minute intro to Star Trek II: Path Into Darkness. According to the official press release, it will be shown in 3D on 500 IMAX screens on December 14, 2012, ahead of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. This will be the first time such a presentation has been held in IMAX 3D. Note that JJ Abrams did not shoot the entire movie with IMAX cameras, but only a few of its most spectacular episodes. The picture itself will be released worldwide on May 17, 2013. It stars Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Cho, Zoe Soldana, Alice Eve, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zachary Quinto, Peter Weller and other actors.
