The adaptation of the popular game "Minecraft" was left without a director. According to Variety, the project was left by the creator of "Night at the Museum" Sean Levy. It is alleged that the director was followed by two screenwriters.

The resignation of Levy and his colleagues came after the management of the Warner Bros. studio, responsible for the movie adaptation, did not support the plot they proposed. What exactly did not suit the studio management is not specified. Warner Bros. intends to introduce a new director.

Note that Sean Levy has a wealth of experience in bringing inanimate characters to life. In addition to the aforementioned Night at the Museum, he directed the fantastic movie Real Steel.

Let's also remind you that in September 2014 the Swedish studio Mojang, which created "Minecraft", was bought by Microsoft for $ 2.5 billion with all rights to the game and its characters.

The official premiere of "Minecraft" - a computer game in the "sandbox" genre with elements of survival - took place in November 2011. A little later, versions of the game for mobile devices running Android and iOS operating systems were presented.

In 2014, the game had over 100 million subscribers worldwide.
