Hugh Jackman refused to participate in the Broadway musical dedicated to the famous illusionist Harry Houdini. This is reported by the Deadline edition with reference to the press release of the actor himself.

The reason for leaving the project is the conflict of movieing schedules. Jackman thanked everyone who collaborated with him during the preparation of the show and expressed confidence that it will be extremely successful.

Note that this is not the first major loss of a musical, which is curated by Studio Paramount. Earlier, the famous Hollywood screenwriter Aaron Sorkin refused to work on the libretto. In his case, a conflict of schedules was also indicated as the reason.

Recall that Jackman has been a participant in the project since 2008. The music for the musical was supposed to be written by composer Danny Elfman, and illusionist David Blaine will act as a consultant.
