The author of the work "Prestige" Christopher Priest has severely criticized the movies of Christopher Nolan. According to the writer, cited by the French edition of Skript, the British moviemaker's trilogy dedicated to Batman is "boring and pretentious", while all other movies are "small and with a nightmarish script."

"I only met him once, when the movie was already shot. To be honest, he was not interesting to me. We have too different views of the world. For the world, he is a wonderful director-pioneer, but for me he is just a boy who is very wanted to go to Hollywood, "the writer said.

Priest also added that at one time he had to choose between two directors - Sam Mendes and Christopher Nolan. Mendes at that time was already a world famous director, favored by numerous professional awards, including Academy Awards, so he decided to give the then little-known Nolan a chance. "I think he did not know about it," the writer specified.

In the end, he liked the movie, and he considers it the best director's work on a par with the thriller "Remember". When it comes to superhero movies, Priest, like his children, prefers Marvel's Iron Man and Avengers projects as they are "funny".

The Trilogy about the Dark Knight, according to the writer, is full of completely unnecessary "psychological realism". "What kind of realism can there be? He's just a bodybuilder who jumps from the roofs of skyscrapers. Sorry, but I have my own opinion on this matter," stressed Christopher Priest.

"He dreams of becoming the new Stanley Kubrick. And I think he'd better be the new Alfred Hitchcock. Creator of intimate and very high-quality thrillers like Remember and The Prestige. And all these blockbusters are a waste of time." concluded the writer.
