Sean Bean to star as Ridley Scott the Martian
Popular British actor Sean Bean has joined the cast of the fantasy movie The Martian, which will be directed by Ridley Scott. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, he got the role of the head of flight programs of the American space administration NASA. Recall that the plot of the movie will be based on the work of the same name by Andy Weir, published in 2012 in electronic format. Its plot revolves around astronaut Mark Watney, left all alone on Mars. The crew of his ship was urgently evacuated from the planet during a severe sandstorm, believing that Mark was dead, with Matt Damon playing the main role. The movie will also star Jeff Daniels, who will play the head of NASA, Keith Mara, Jessica Chastain and Kristen Wiig. Filming is due to begin in December 2014 with an eye on the premiere in November 2015. Sean Bean's last movie work at the time of this writing was his role in the science fiction movie Jupiter Ascending, which will be presented to viewers in 2015.
