Samuel L. Jackson turns 65
Famous Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson celebrates his 65th birthday on December 21, 2013. Jackson was born in Washington DC and spent his childhood in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he attended one of the black schools. In his youth, he took an active part in the struggle for civil rights and even was a bailiff at the funeral of Martin Luther King. He was supposed to take part in an armed struggle, joining the radical group Black Power, but after the FBI's warning, Jackson's mother sent him to Los Angeles, where his acting career began. In the 80s, he starred in various television programs and series, but real fame came to him only in the mid-90s after the release of such movies as "Jurassic Park" and "Pulp Fiction".
