ITV has ordered the fifth season of Downton Abbey
The British television network ITV has commissioned Carnival Films for the fifth season of the drama series Downton Abbey. Deadline reports that the production of a new story about the trials and tribulations facing the Crowley family and their staff of servants will begin in 2014. Julian Fellowes and Liz Trubridge have been appointed as producers. Fellows will also return to his writing duties. Gareth Nim from Carnival Films will act as executive producer. The first episode of the fourth season, aired on ITV on 22 September 2013, was the UK's highest rated television premiere.
