The Hunger Games tops the American box office
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 won the first place in the US box office over the past weekend. The painting earned much less in North America than the most pessimistic forecasts promised it - $ 123 million. Nevertheless, the next series of the popular franchise was able to demonstrate the strongest start of 2014. Previously, the record was held by Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, which grossed 100 million on its premiere weekend. Walt Disney's City of Heroes came in second with a $ 20 million finish. It is worth noting that outside of North America, the cartoon has started at the time of this writing in only a few countries, so its international revenue was a very modest $ 36 million. The City of Heroes earned exactly half of this amount in the USA box office. The third place was kept by the fantastic movie "Interstellar", which grossed another 15 million dollars at home.
