Cloud Atlas, directed by Lana Wachowski, Andy Wachowski, and Tom Tykwer, was heavily edited by Chinese censors prior to its national release. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The movie is said to have been shortened by 40 minutes in total compared to the version presented to American and European viewers.
