Potter Star to star in the vampire series The Strain
FX has announced changes to the cast of the new series The Strain, based on the novels of Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan, with David Bradley playing one of the key roles, not John Hurt, as previously planned. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter. In the center of the plot is Dr. Ephraim Goodweder (Corey Stoll), head of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in New York City. The goal of his team is to investigate the mysterious ancient virus that caused the outbreak of the epidemic of vampirism. As the virus spreads, Ephraim, his team and ordinary New Yorkers fight for the fate of humanity. Bradley will play Professor Abraham Setrakyan. Holocaust survivor Setrakyan immigrated to the United States after World War II and now owns a pawnshop in Spanish Harlem. He may be the only one who knows the answers regarding the epidemic, of course, if someone wants to hear him. The series, whose first season is scheduled for release on small screens in July 2014, also stars Mia Maestro , Sean Astin, Kevin Durant, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Summel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesey, Ben Hyland and Miguel Gomez. Del Toro and Chuck Hogan will write the pilot, which Del Toro will direct himself. The showrunner of the project is Carlton Cuse, and the executive producer is – Gary Hangar. Production on the project will begin at the end of November 2013 in Toronto. David Bradley is known to viewers for his series Doctor Who, The Tudors, and Game of Thrones '' and, of course, the Harry Potter franchise.
