Terminator 2 stereo version will be shown to Chinese
DMG Entertainment and Studiocanal, in collaboration with director James Cameron, will release a stereoscopic version of Terminator 2: Judgment Day for the worldwide release in 2016. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter, citing an official press release. It is argued that the focus will be on the Chinese movie market as the most promising. Note that in China, the famous science fiction movie has never been shown in cinemas. "Next year will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the movie, so we think that this is the best time to re-release the movie, but this time in an updated stereoscopic version," James Cameron himself commented on the initiative. Note that the director had already converted his other famous movie, Titanic, into 3D format. The experiment turned out to be quite successful: the stereo version earned 343 million dollars at the worldwide box office, of which 145 million in China. The exact date of the premiere of "Terminator 2" in 3D has not yet been specified. It is also unknown if the movie will be screened in other countries, including North America.
